Renovation of a water / sewer project in Ottumwa, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Tank Information: The project includes work on two lime silos located on Turner Drive in Ottumwa, Iowa. Each silo has an approximate diameter of 14 ft. and an estimated height of 60 ft. The work includes: Exterior: Water dampen abrasive blast clean the roof of each silo to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. The rest of the structures are to be high pressure water cleaned (5,000 to 10,000 psi), spot power tool cleaned to a SSPC-SP11 standard, and apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system (the contractor has the option to water dampen abrasive blast clean the large areas of rust bleedthrough on the sidewalls). Work also includes the fill pipe from the building to each silo. Repairs: 1) Weld loose ladder rungs. 2) Install a fall prevention device on the exterior ladders. 3) Install swing gates at the sidewall ladder openings at the roof handrails. 4) Install a patch plate on each silo. 5) Grind the ends of bolts on the sidewalls and weld the bolt in place. Commence work on or after April 18, 2022. Substantial Completion by September 10, 2022 including cure.
