The purpose and intent of this IFB is to establish a firm fixed-price contract with one qualified Contractor to replace three existing HVAC units that service the County Gym. This solicitation is issued by the Bedford County Department of Public Works on behalf of the Bedford County Board of Supervisors, a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, herein referred collectively for convenience as "Owner".The project site is located at 1059 Turning Point Road, Bedford, VA 24523.The work under this Contract must be performed within 150 days of the Notice to Proceed. Notice to Proceed will be issued upon execution of the Contract. The intent of the IFB is to describe a describe a functionally complete project (or part thereof) to be constructed in accordance with this IFB. Any labor, documentation, services, materials, or equipment that reasonably may be inferred from the IFB or from prevailing custom or trade usage as being required to produce the indicated result will be provided whether or not specifically called for, at no additional cost to Owner. Further, the IFB documents are complementary; what is required by one is as binding as if required by all. The intention of this IFB is to replace three existing units (see pictures below) with new units with a minimum rating of 15 SEER. This contract will include all items in order to create a complete and operational system. The work under this Contract must be performed within 150 days of the Notice to Proceed. Notice to Proceed will be issued upon execution of the Contract. The Contractor shall provide all equipment, materials, and qualified personnel required to perform the work in a professional, first-class manner. Unless specifically approved by Owner, subcontractors are not acceptable to provide services awarded through this Contract; all services must be provided by the Contractor and the Contractor's employees. Contractor personnel must be aware of the safety of the public at all times during operations, adhering to all federal, state, and local safety laws. The Contractor shall assume all on-the-job responsibilities for the actions of Contractor's personnel. Bidders are requested to include the IFB title in the email subject line. Questions received less than five (5) days prior to the bid due date may not be answered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities, and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the procuring public body to be in its sole interest.
