Each request for contract documents will include written documentation showing the contractor's company name, company's state license no., the names of the company's officers and a signed affidavit from the company's insurance agency certifying to the contracting company's ability to obtain a performance and payment bond with its bonding limits and bonding company's name. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security (certified check, cashier's check or bid bond with power of attorney) for an amount equal to 5% of the total bid. Money orders and/or company checks will not be acceptable. Such security will be no less than 5% of the net amount bid, excluding taxes. If a bid bond is submitted in lieu of a cashier's or certified check, said bond shall be properly executed by an individual owner, partner, or authorized officer of the corporation submitting the bid, be signed by a representative of an acceptable surety company.
