The Village of Winnetka is accepting sealed bids for 2022 Sidewalk Program. The work includes the construction of new and/or the rehabilitation of sidewalks in accordance with the specification and details set forth in the bid documents. The project includes removing and replacing or constructing curbs, sidewalks, sidewalk ramps, and driveways according to ADA requirements and 2 HMA patches. The project also includes some demolition of concrete sidewalks, ramps and curbs within the Village of Winnetka. Questions regarding the plans and specifications shall be directed to the Assistant Director of Finance, Anthony Vasquez, in writing, or by email at avasquez@winnetka.org Questions received less than four days prior to the time of opening of bids will not be answered. Addenda will be placed on the Villages website. It is the responsibility of the potential Vendor/Contractor to frequently check this website for any future addenda. Vendors/Contractors will be required to submit all addenda acknowledgment forms with their bid submittals Bid Security: Bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit of at least 10% of the total bid amount. Bid deposits may be in the form of a bid bond, cashiers check, money order or bank draft. Performance Bond: The successful bidder shall be required to provide a Performance Bond of 110% of the total contract amount. Prevailing Wage Rates: The successful bidder shall be required to pay not less than the prevailing wage rates as determined in accordance with the Illinois Wage Law to all laborers, craftsmen, journeymen and other workers employed in the work necessitated by the fulfillment of this contract Prequalification Requirements: No bid shall be considered unless the bidder is able to perform a minimum of 51% of the contract under their own forces. The qualifications of all other bidders shall be determined by the Village, in the exercise of its discretion. Any such other Bidder shall submit a Statement of Qualifications along with its sealed bid. The Statement of Qualifications shall contain the bidder's IDOT pre-qualification and a list of all similar public projects completed by the bidder within the last 5 years, including the name of the public body for which the work was performed, a description of the work, the contract amount, and the name and phone number of a contact person for each project. The Village reserves the right to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, to waive or not to waive informalities therein, and accepting the bid considered to be in the best interest of the Village of Winnetka. This is the multi-year (3 years) contract with optional (2) 1-year extensions. This contract needs to be renewed yearly with the approval of unit prices in between the contractor and the Village of Winnetka. The contractor needs to send the yearly unit price in the start of each year for the Village approval. If the contractor and the Village of Winnetka are not able to agree on unit prices, Village may terminate this contract
