GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Originally built in 1990, the Literature Building is located within Warren College at UC San Diego. To accommodate the Halicioglu Data Science Institute's (HDSI) growing department, the Literature Building has been identified as the new hub for HDSI, creating 'one place' for which HDSI is known. The renovated space will provide a place for undergraduates, graduates, and faculty; foster workplace training, and develop a talent pool leveraging industry partnerships, and interdisciplinary research. Renovation spaces include offices, labs, data sequencing, instrumentation, and data storage. The project is approximately 42,000 SF of interior renovation. The interior renovations will include revised wall layouts, restroom upgrades, exterior glazing, interior glazing, exterior façade modifications, upgrades to finishes throughout, and MEP upgrades.
