Renovation of an educational facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in renovations/repairs to existing water-based fire protection systems. Specific experience requirements include: Fire protection work including pipe replacement/repairs, high-performance coatings, daily high-level fire protection system shutdowns that may require fire watch and coordination with active facilities and fire alarm systems, and fire protection engineering and piping plans. Construction duration is approximately 5 months. The Contractor shall have demonstrated an average annual business revenue of at least $3,000,000 over the last five (5) consecutive years. The Contractor must have demonstrated experience on their best three (3) comparable projects with the Contractor providing services as a C-16 Fire Protection Contractor within the last ten (10) years. Projects should have possessed the following construction challenges: urban site work with limited construction and staging areas, repair of systems requiring proactive and innovative solutions due to noise, dust, and pedestrian traffic while the surrounding area is occupied and research is ongoing, renovations/expansions requiring proactive and innovative solutions due to unknown and/or unforeseen field conditions, renovation work requiring complex phasing plan development, execution and solutions to maintain egress and utilities to adjacent crews and coordination.
