The new facility will have four stories above-grade and one below-grade level built into sloping hillside. The four above-grade stories will house the lobby, atrium, galleries, administrative offices, support spaces, and other public museum spaces, while the level below grade will house collections storage. 2. The current project includes approx. 30,000 SF of interpretive galleries. The design of these exhibits within these galleries is through a separate entity under a separate contract with the City of Tulsa. The scope for this building project is to provide base building infrastructure, permanent wall, ceiling, and floor materials to a level that supports the exhibit gallery design. Exhibit gallery design, exhibit furniture, lighting, graphic, casework, and exhibit finishes are not included in the base building scope. 3. The current planning calls for phased construction that meets both existing and potential future funding. The planning also includes early design packages for foundations, structure, and the central utility plant (CUP). The phased landscape upgrades include a 'Day 1' design and an additional 'Day 2' phase contingent upon other funding availability. 4. The project also has several Alternates. See drawing schedule per package for these descriptions. 5. The new museum will sit primarily within the footprint of the demolished existing building. The new facility will have a concrete 'podium' with steel fame above. An existing tunnel connected to the adjacent HCAR (Helmerich Center for American Research) building will remain and extend to tie into the new facility's construction.
