Site work and paving for a road / highway in Grayslake, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
It is the responsibility of the bidder to meet all requirements of the bid documents. The Village of Grayslake reserves the right to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder most favorable to the Village, as determined by the Village. The Village also reserves the right to reject any bid or part of a bid that does not conform to the bidding requirements or to modify or waive all formalities and technicalities in a bid, or to reject all bids. Compliance conditions are included in the bid documents. DESCRIPTION OF WORK (PCC PAVEMENT REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT, 8") This work shall consist of the removal, disposal, and replacement of existing (PCC) ribbon in accordance with Sections 440 and 442 of the Standard Specifications and as directed by the Village Representative. The ribbon is described as 18"-24" in width and borders the intersections and crosswalks. Ribbon repairs will vary in size. Contractor shall use IDOT Class PP-1 mix for the new (PCC) ribbon. ATTACHMENT C The Contractor shall machine-saw cut a clean joint 8'' (inches) in depth at the locations marked by the Village Representative. Machine-saw cuts will not be measured for payment and shall be considered incidental to the contract. The Contractor shall carefully remove and properly dispose of the (PCC) pavement. The thickness of the new (PCC) pavement shall be 8'' (inches). If the Contractor removes or damages the existing pavement outside the limits designated by the Village Representative for removal and replacement, the Contractor will be required to remove and replace that portion at his own expense to the satisfaction of the Village Representative. This work shall be paid for at the contract unit price per square foot for PCC PAVEMENT REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT 8''. VI. DESCRIPTION OF WORK (PCC DECORATIVE STAMPED SIDEWALK REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT 5") This work shall consist of the removal, disposal, and replacement of existing (PCC, DECORATIVE) stamped sidewalk in accordance with Sections 440 and 442 of the Standard Specifications and as directed by the Village Representative. DESCRIPTION OF WORK (PCC, DECORATIVE, RED DYE PAVEMENT REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT, 8") This work shall consist of the removal, disposal, and replacement of existing (PCC, DECORATIVE, RED DYE) pavement in accordance with Sections 440 and 442 of the Standard Specifications and as directed by the Village Representative. Apply color release sparingly to colored surface by broadcast method, approximately 2 to 3 rows ahead of the planned stamping tool placement. Stamping method shall be done to match the existing pattern. Tooling shall be done when stamping tools are removed after imprinting. Eliminate all squeeze joints between stamping tools, if any, with hand tools prior to concrete setting. Allow 24 hours before removing excess release from the slab with garden hose. If the Contractor removes or damages the existing pavement outside the limits designated by the Village Representative for removal and replacement, the Contractor will be required to remove and replace that portion at his own expense to the satisfaction of the Village Representative. This work shall be paid for at the contract unit price per square foot for PCC, DECORATIVE, RED DYE PAVEMENT REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT, 8". VIII.
