The creek is part of the larger Still Creek - Brunette River watershed that discharges into the Fraser River in New Westminster. The study's purpose is to guide future work in the Still Creek watershed to improve the health of the waterway including physical instream habitat, riparian habitat and water quality while benefiting ecological, social and cultural values. The study will identify and describe projects that contribute to the implementation of the Still Creek Integrated Stormwater Management Plan, the Rain City Strategy and the Climate Emergency Action Plan (Big Move 6 Nature-based Carbon Sequestration). The study will inform the Renfrew Rupert Station area planning and the associated integrated water management planning components. Key deliverables of the study include: A long lost/map of potential watershed enhancement projects and sites; conceptual design of an updated creek corridor daylighting concept linked with future redevelopment planning (from Renfrew St. at E 14th Ave to Highway 1 and Boundary Rd.); and Conceptual design of seven standalone urban watershed enhancement projects located in the public right-of-way and parks (including the four pre-defined sites/concepts from the City's Federal Natural Infrastructure Fund application). TIMELINE: Request for Proposal is underway for a consultant to provide Still Creek Rehabilitation and Enhancement Study has closed. Project manager do not release successful proponent.
