Under the scope of work in this contract, the Contractor shall be required to supply all necessary labor, equipment, tools, vehicles, services (traffic control, etc.) and materials to excavate in the roadway, shut off at the corporation or ferl and disconnect the water service at the main and remove the curb box and rod behind the curb or edge of pavement. The locations of the water services to be disconnected are inactive water accounts to abandon buildings or vacant lots. The terminology of (SO@M) Shut off at the Main shall be interchangeable with shutting off at the corporation or ferl and disconnection of the water service at the main as well as the removal the curb box and rod behind the curb or edge of pavement. The majority of the abandon buildings are SO@M locations to be demolished that were reported by Trenton Inspections Department. All are in the City of Trenton in Trenton Roads and Mercer County Roads in the City of Trenton. The number of locations to be disconnected is approximated in this contract with the locations to be determined by the (TWW) Trenton Water Works representative. It is necessary that these locations be disconnected from the main as they tend to be older water services that leak in the winter months or during the paving restoration season. These locations are a potential source of unaccounted for water loss. If any location begins to leak during the course of the contract, that location shall be a priority to be disconnected from the main. Other locations not on the list may be added should they become inactive abandon services that begin to leak. The term of contract shall be for a period of twelve months commencing on the date of issuance of the notice-to-proceed or, if occurring prior to expiration of the twelve-month period, until the contract quantities are reached, or total contract dollar amount is reached. The Trenton Water Works shall reserve the right to extend the period of the contract beyond the twelve-month period subject to the availability of unexpended monies remaining from the total contract amount authorized by the purchase order to perform the work.
