Renovation of an educational facility in Madison, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Madison City Board of Education in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Only General Contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to prequalification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid for the Project. General Contractors must demonstrate successful completion of similar projects on time for satisfied Owners. The pre-qualification proposal shall include: A list of successful projects or similar scope and contract amounts; client names, addresses and telephone numbers. This project is being bid under the provisions of Alabama Act 2013-205, which requires the Contractor to take advantage of the Owner's tax exempt status, obtain necessary certificates and other documentation required from the Alabama Department of Revenue, and to administer the sales and use tax savings portion of the project, as part of their bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
