This project involves the detailed assessment of Akron-Canton Airport airfield pavements, electrical components, signage, navigational aids, underground drainage, and other major assets of the airfield environment. Many of these assets, especially in the Runway 1-19 and Runway 5-23 Runway Safety Areas, are over 30 years old and past their useful lives. For example, due to the age and condition of existing electrical conduits associated with primary Runway 1-19, the runway had to be closed for several weeks and adversely impacted the operation and capacity of the airfield environment. In addition to Runway 1-19 and Runway 5-23 pavements showing signs of distress due to age, many of the Airport's taxiways, terminal apron areas (not addressed with recent pavement rehabilitation projects), and general aviation areas require rehabilitation. This Phase 1 assessment will systematically determine which airfield pavements and utility assets require nearterm rehabilitation to maintain a safe and operational airfield for the long-term. Subsequent phases of this Assessment are intended to design and construct the selected pavement/utility assets not 3 2/21/2022 already identified on the Airport's ACIP and require near-term attention. The Akron-Canton Airport is hereby soliciting request of qualifications and experience from airport consultants for the detailed assessment of airfield pavements, electrical components, signage, navigational aids, underground drainage, and other major assets of the airfield environment. A qualification-based selection process conforming to FAA Advisory Circular 150/5100-14E will be utilized. Fee information will not be considered in the selection process and should not be submitted with the statement of qualifications. Selection criteria will include: o Recent experience on similar projects o Qualification to perform all aspects of project o Ability to meet schedules within budget o Quality of previous airport projects undertaken o Disadvantaged Business Enterprises participation o Local participation The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
