Request for proposal (RFP) for a Design-Builder to deliver the new recreation facility and civic centre. This facility will include an arena / hockey rink, fieldhouse, event hall, and municipal administration spaces. The City endeavors to develop a recreation facility and civic centre in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan using a Design-Build delivery model. The Project is to be located at the previous arena location, between 4 Ave E, 7 Ave E, 3 St E and 6 St E in Meadow Lake, SK. The RFP will include the Owner's Statement of Requirements (OSR): Functional Program (Space Allocation) Room Data Sheets Performance Specifications; and Indicative Design The general scope of the Work included within the Project can be summarized as design, construct, and commission a new recreation facility and civic centre, on the site of the former arena. The facility is to include the following items: - Approximate Building Size - 123,000 Sq. ft - NHL-sized hockey rink - Multiple dressing rooms, including executive (home team) dressing rooms - Arena bowl seating access - Private corporate viewing boxes - Fieldhouse with multi-sport flooring and running track - Indoor pleasure rink for family leisure skating and/or figure skating, with viewing area - Rentable event rooms - Storage rooms - Large event hall with 520-person seating capacity, commercial kitchen & stage - Municipal administration offices - Security office - Kids indoor play areas - Tenant Improvement "mall" area for future retail/restaurant uses - Washrooms and exit requirements per Building Code - Consideration for facility connections for future expansion (i.e. - this may include a public pool / leisure facility) MLRC - Design-Build Services RFQ Page 3 - Emergency generator capable of supporting portions of the facility which could act as an Emergency Services Center Written confirmation from a surety that the Respondent will be able to obtain a $10 million performance bond and a $10 million labour and materials payment bond written by a surety, or sureties, authorized to conduct business in Saskatchewan, if the Respondent is awarded a contract. The MLRC project has been awarded to Quorex Construction for a value of $36M including taxes.
