As of April 6, 2022, the project has not been awarded yet. A timeline for award has not been established yet. Work consists of water, sewer, drainage, and roadway improvements on West Street from Conway Street to Elm Street. Specifically, work consists of the construction and testing of approximately 1,020 feet of new 8-inch DICL water main and new water service and fire hydrant connections; abandonment of the existing aging and undersized 6-inch CI water main; construction and testing of approximately 870 feet of new 8-inch PVC gravity sanitary sewer main, new sewer service connections, and replacement of existing sewer manholes with precast concrete manholes; replacement of approximately 1,161 feet of deteriorated, cracked or broken drain pipes ranging in size from 12 to 18-inch, construction of approximately 1,890 feet of new 6-inch underdrain pipe, replacement of existing drain manholes and catch basins with new precast concrete structures, and repair of existing catch basins; installation of new asphalt berm; trench and driveway repair; reclamation of the roadway; by-pass pumping; and related work. The Bid Security from the Contractor in the form of cash, certified check, treasurer's check, or cashier's check, drawn upon a responsible bank in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be made payable to the City of Greenfield, Massachusetts and shall be enclosed with the bid. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials (Payment) Bond in the full amount of the contract, will be required of the successful bidder. The responsible and eligible bidder offering the lowest price shall be awarded the project, subject to the availability of funding. The City of Greenfield reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. This project is being funded from a combination of City funds and Community Development Block Grant Program, through the Massachusetts Department of Housing & Community Development.
