The Town of Milford is receiving public bids for the construction of stormwater management practices at Milford Town Park in the Town of Milford; including grading and soil placement of two bioretention areas, installation of catch basins, associated drainage connections, pavement and sidewalk repair, plantings, dewatering if encountered, and site amenities and supplying pipe and fitting materials for underground stormwater chambers at in Milford, Massachusetts. Estimated cost of the contract is $224,000. Bidders shall address all inquiries regarding technical aspects of the project in written form to Mr. Steve Stanish, Horsley Witten Group, Inc. via email at sstanish@horsleywitten.com . Only inquiries in written form will be accepted. Responses that will affect the Work will be included in the Addenda. Copies of Addenda will be provided online on www.biddocsonline.com. Bidders shall be responsible to review and acknowledge Addenda issued online. Each BID must be secured by an accompanying deposit of five percent (5%) of the total amount n the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, Treasurers Check or Cashiers Check issued by a responsible US Bank or trust company, made payable to the Town of Milford. Bid bond or check shall be included in the sealed Bid Package. The successful bidder must execute the Agreement within 5 business days following the Notice of Award including 100% of the Performance Bonds and 100% labor and materials bond and duly executed and acknowledged by the said bidder as principal and by a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the commonwealth of Massachusetts and satisfactory to the OWNER. Bonds, as surety, are for the faithful performance of the contract and payment for labor and materials. The premiums for such bonds paid by the CONTRACTOR. In case of his/her failure to present said bonds the OWNER, at its option, may consider the bidder has abandoned his/her contract, in which case the certified check accompanying the proposal shall become the property of the Town of Milford. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities, or minor defects, or to reject any or all General Bids, if it is in the public interest to do so. All Bids shall remain in effect for thirty days, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the General Bids. REDUCTION IN THE SCOPE OF WORK - The OWNER reserves the right to reduce the scope of the work to be done under this contract and to omit any work in order to bring the cost within available funds. To this end, the OWNER reserves the right to reduce the quantity of any items or omit all of any items of the bid, either prior to executing the contract or at any time during the progress of the work. The OWNER further reserves the right, at any time during the progress of the work, to restore all or part of any items previously omitted or reduced. Exercise by the OWNER of the above rights shall not constitute any ground or basis of claim for damages or for anticipated profits on the work omitted. Final completion shall be obtained by June 30, 2022.
