The County is looking to add additional parking for employees. The expansion will be about 2500 square feet. 1. Verify gradients and elevations. 2. Strip topsoil and vegetation. Do not excavate wet or frozen material. Stockpile topsoil in an area on site. 3. Remove subsoil from site as required for new base, binder, and wearing courses. 4. Proof roll with a loaded tandem axle truck to verify compacted subbase is dry and ready to support paving and imposed loads. 5. Apply primer on aggregate base and subbase at a uniform rate of 1/3 gallon per square yard. 6. Use clean sand to blot excess primer. 7. Apply tack coat on asphalt surfaces over subgrade surface at uniform rate of 1/3 gallon per square yard. 8. Place asphalt binder course within 24 hours of applying primer. 9. Place binder course to compacted thickness. 10.Place wearing course within 24 hours of placing and compacting binder course. When binder course is placed more than 24 hours before placing wearing course, clean surface and apply a tack coat before placing wearing course. 11.Piace wearing course to compacted thickness. 12.Compact each course by rolling to specified density. Do not displace or extrude pavement from position. Hand compact in areas inaccessible to rolling equipment. 13.Perform rolling with consecutive passes to achieve even and smooth finish without roller marks. 14.Leave stockpile area clean, raked, and ready to receive seeding.
