** This project has been awarded to James W Fowler Co. in the amount of $8,606,606. ** The successful bidder will be responsible for the installation of approximately 1,965 LF of 72-inch diameter sanitary sewer pipe, 123 LF of 96-inch diameter steel casing, six (6) HDPE access portals/tees, one (1) 120-inch diameter HDPE sanitary sewer manhole, one (1) 72-inch diameter polymer concrete sanitary sewer manhole, one (1) 96-inch diameter polymer concrete sanitary sewer manhole, 48-inch diameter concrete manholes, sanitary sewer cleanouts, backflow preventers, and direct connections to the 72-inch system. The bidder will also be responsible for reconnecting existing sanitary sewer facilities and the removal and disposal of existing sanitary sewer facilities. The work includes installing and maintaining erosion control BMPs, roadway excavation including removal and disposal of existing pavement and unwanted or excess materials encountered during execution of the project, traffic control, utility coordination, concrete curb ramp and sidewalk restoration, roadway restoration, and restoration of disturbed private property. The work also includes design, installation, operation and removal of temporary wastewater bypass systems to ensure uninterrupted sanitary sewer service through the duration of the project. The work also includes design, permitting, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal of temporary construction dewatering systems as necessary to complete the installation of the sanitary sewer improvements. Clarification Deadline: 3/4/2022 4:00 PM The successful bidder will also be responsible for ensuring all construction activities comply with the WSDOT Franchise Permit, Pierce County Right-of-Way and road closure permit(s), the Stormwater General Permit, and Pierce County Stormwater Management Manual. The successful bidder will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing phased road closures as specified herein, which includes SR-7 Right-of-Way work limited to night and weekend work with limited durations. Work shall also include all necessary design work, submittals, shop drawings, and calculations required for the Owner's submittal review procedure. Once the appropriate submittal review designation has been provided by the Owner, the Contractor will purchase and provide the structures, pipes, and fittings needed to complete the work. The Contract Time shall be two-hundred and fifty (250) calendar days from the date of the "Notice to Proceed." The award will be based on the lowest responsive bid for all described work received from a responsible bidder. No Pre-Bid Conference will be held for this project.
