Scope of work includes new 5 bay fire station, approximately 15,540 s.f. Brick, block and bar joist construction. Approximately 38,000 s.f. of site concrete. A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be will be held on a date to be announced later. Typically two weeks before the bid opening. Please meet on site at 23rd & Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. The meeting is intended to review requirements and allow contractors the opportunity to visit the site and ask questions concerning the project. Bids are to be sealed in an envelope clearly marked as "HUTCHINSON FIRE DEPARTMENT NEW FIRE STATION #1 BID" (to avoid premature opening of the bid), and returned to the City Clerk of Hutchinson, 125 East Avenue B, P.O. Box 1576, Hutchinson, Kansas, 67504-1567. Failure to mark your bid may cause your bid to not be considered during official opening. a. Each bidder shall include a Bid Bond, or Certified Check, payable to City of Hutchinson Kansas in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid. See the City General Specifications included in the bid form. b. It shall be the Owner's right to cash any Bidder's bid bond if, after being notified that he has been awarded the contract on the basis of the bid submitted herewith, the Bidder refuses or fails to sign the contract and furnish the required Bonds and Certificates of Insurance. c. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, and to waive any formalities. The Owner reserves the right to accept one or any combination of bids (Alternates) within a proposal. d. Contractors shall base their Proposals only upon items in the Specifications and Addenda. Do not write substitute proposals into the Form of Proposal.
