SCOPE OF WORK 1. Complete removal of all brush, leaves and grass debris from the facility. 2. The estimated volume of the debris is approximately 4,000-5,000 cubic yards. Bidders should develop their own quantity estimate for bidding. The piles may contain inorganic materials in addition to the brush, leaves and grass clippings. The Town of Wells invites and requests bids from qualified contractors for the removal of all grass, brush and leave piles at the Wells Transfer Station, 386 Willie Hill Road, Wells, Maine 04090. The term "invitation to bid" shall mean the complete assembly of related materials, whether attached or incorporated by reference, which is furnished to prospective bidders for the purpose of requesting sealed bids. The Assistant Public Works Director will be available to review the area. There will not be a mandatory pre-bid construction meeting. In that event, the Town will negotiate with the selected contractor to determine the value of the change order(s) The process for bid selection is governed by and set forth in the Town of Wells Purchasing Policy, a copy of which will be provided at no cost to any interested and qualified respondent upon request. The Town of Wells reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to accept the bid providing the most advantageous outcome for the Town, as determined by the Public Works Department and Town Manager and approved by the Board of Selectmen. The Board of Selectmen may act upon the bids at that time, or alternately may take them under consideration for action at a subsequent meeting. The Town reserves the right to select or reject any and/or all bids or bid components as may be in its best interests.
