Renovation of an educational facility in Hays, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 20,250-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

All Contractors are hereby notified that they shall be properly licensed under the State Laws of North Carolina governing their trades. All Contractors will be required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (AIA Document A305 or equivalent) twenty-four (24) hours before requesting Bid Documents. Each proposal must be accompanied by a deposit of cash or a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal; or, in lieu of the deposit of cash or certified check, a bid bond 00 11 13-2 in the above amount. Successful bidder may not withdraw his bid within thirty days after the opening thereof without forfeiture of his bid bond. In the event of the failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law, the above deposit will be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids, to waive informalities, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder should it be deemed in the best interest of the project or the Owner. The Project consists of a one-story addition to the existing school which includes new classrooms and new dining room facilities adjacent to the existing dining area. Further, there will be renovations to the existing toilet rooms to provide a barrier free environment. New covered walkways are included and masonry security walls to enclose the entire campus. New structures will consist of steel frame and CMU walls with gypsum wallboard, masonry veneers, concrete slab floors w/VCT finishes, acoustical ceilings, low sloping metal roofs, metal deck roofs, single ply membrane roofing, aluminum canopies, steel frame canopies, storefront and window sash. There will also be refurbishing of the existing classroom facilities that includes paint, lighting and millwork. Exterior work includes grading, drives, parking areas, concrete curbs and gutters and storm drainage.
