Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Collingwood, Ontario. Design plans call for the construction of a conference / convention center; hospitality development; restaurant; and municipal facility.
Collingwood Grain Terminals Lands Revitalization, scope of work to be defined. Redeveloping Heritage Drive into four distinct areas that link together. The development will preserve and revitalize the Terminals into a full-service hotel with restaurants and event spaces. The ground floor includes Restaurant/Cafe, Activity Rental Shop, Adventure Zone Access, Cultural Space, and Community Space. Floors 2-9 will be redeveloped for hotel rooms ranging in size from 450 sf to 900 sf. Adding a residential condominium to the east of the Terminals. The 10th floor includes Bar and Restaurant, Outdoor Terraces, Event Spaces, Fitness Facility and Wellness Centre. Creating public access to the top bin floor for views of Georgian Bay and downtown Collingwood. Enhancing the community access to the shoreline and water, creating new trails and walkways, lookouts and boardwalks. Creating space for shops. Transforming the Collingwood Harbour marine area. TIMELINE: Following an extensive procurement process, Streetcar Developments Inc. & Dream Unlimited Corp. has been recommended as the successful proponent to be considered to move forward with their proposal to revitalize the Collingwood Grain Terminals. Based on Council approval to proceed with the execution of the MOU. The proponent and the Town are completing the required binding agreements. Additional investigative work on the Terminals and the surrounding lands is underway to determine the required land use planning applications to facilitate the redevelopment. The findings from the additional investigative work will be critical in informing the design of the final concept for the lands, which will be subject to Council decisions under the Planning Act. The town of Collingwood has launched a public engagement plan to advise the municipality of the prosed scope and schedules. Further project schedules are undetermined pending approvals. *The architect of record is Cobe A/S Orientkaj 4, st. 2150 Nordhavn Denmark.
