This project consists of the replacement of miscellaneous sanitary sewer laterals on various streets throughout the City, preparing the existing pavement and constructing HMA pavements, which includes cold-milling, pavement/existing base and subbase removal, structure cover adjustment, curb work, HMA pavement and base placement, shoulder placement, crushing and shaping sections of roads in Shiras Hills, and overband crack filling. Restoration of all disturbed lawn and grassy areas is included. Bid guaranty of the three lowest bidders will be returned after approval ofthe contract by the Owner. All others will be returned within 48 hours after the Bid Opening. Before any work is commenced under this contract, a preconstruction meeting between representatives of the Contractor, the City Engineering Department, and utility companies shall be held with the Engineering Department. The preconstruction meeting forthis project will be held no laterthan 10 days after contract acceptance by the Marquette City Commission. It is anticipated the contractor will be selected by the Marquette City Commission on May 9th, 2022. Effective 28 February 2011, the City ofMarquette adopted a Prevailing Wage resolution requiring that all mechanics and/or laborers employed on City construction projects costing in excess of $65,000 be paid minimum wages as determined by the Secretary of Labor. These prevailing wage requirements will apply to this project if the contractor's total bid price is in excess of $65,000.
