To secure three (3) new replacement mechanical bar screens and controls for the Northside WWTP. The project is to consist in full demolition of existing bar screens and control systems. Installation of the selected bar screens along with the controls for the selected system. The bar screen system shall be front cleaned, back discharge and installed in the existing channels. Screening system shall discharge into a new conveyor system with control system that carries screenings to an outside new screening wash/press with new controls. Wash/press shall empty into small storage bin that will be moved to larger bulk bin for permanent disposal. The City will select the most qualified firm to perform these services. The scope of work will include full demolition and disposal of the existing incline bar screens (BS) and controls. Coordination of the demo and installation will be done one bar screen at a time to always allow continuous use of two bar screens. Utilizing existing conveyor system will be needed until two (2) of the new bar screens have been installed and are operational. This may require temporary modifications to the new bar screen discharge to allow the existing conveyor system to functional. Desired sequence of replacement of screens are to begin with BS #1, BS #2 and then BS #3. Owner will issue Addenda to make any changes to the Contract Documents that result from discussions at the pre-bid meeting. Information presented, and statements made at the pre-bid meeting will not be binding or legally effective unless incorporated in an Addendum. Hazen & Sawyer are conducting an interceptor study and that report will provide additional information. That report will be made available to all potential bidders when it is received. The City reserves the right to reject all proposals submitted and to waive any informality in the proposals. The right is also reserved to award the contract where it appears to be in the best interest of the City of Danville.
