**As of March 18, 2022, this project has been awarded to Mauro Sewer in the amount of $2,189,878.80. The proposed work is officially known as the "2022 WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS" and consists of the following major items of work (Quantities are approximate): BASE BID: Replace approximately 6922 L.F. of zinc-coated class 52 D.I.P. water main (25 L.F. of 4", 91 L.F. of 6", 5933 L.F. of 8", & 873 L.F. of 10"), 1127 L.F. of 8" C909 PVC water main, 88 L.F of 8" HDPE water main, 190 S.Y. of pavement patching type B, 2103 S.Y. of pavement patching class D, 2393 S.Y of pavement patching class D special, 1830 S.Y. of mill and overlay HMA, remove and replace fire hydrants, re-connect home and business services, and all other appurtenant construction on Drury Lane, Jane Avenue, Olive Street, Belmont Avenue, between Belmont Avenue & Haddow Avenue, Patton Avenue, and Evergreen Avenue. ALTERNATE #1: Replace approximately 978 L.F of zinc-coated class 52 D.I.P. water main (26 L.F. of 6", 952 L.F. of 8"), 824 S.Y. of pavement patching class D, 2179 S.Y. of mill and overlay HMA, remove and replace fire hydrants, re-connect home and business services, and all other appurtenant construction on Burr Oak Drive and Burning Tree Lane. Bids are to be submitted on the forms furnished with the contract document books, properly executed in accordance with the directions contained in the Instructions to Bidders. All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 10% of the total bid in the form of a bid bond, certified check, bank draft or cashier's check made payable to the Village of Arlington Heights. No bids shall be considered unless accompanied by such security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price in accordance with the provisions stated in the Instructions to Bidders. The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals, to waive informalities in bidding and to accept the proposal deemed by the Board of Trustees to be the most favorable to the interests of the Village. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the written consent of the Village Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Arlington Heights. The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.05 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed.
