The project involves the renovation of an existing stone arch bridge including removal of and rebuilding of the existing stonework, installation of Rip Rap, and installation of concrete curbing doweled in solid rock at the base of the arch. Project is for the repair of the existing stone arch bridge under Kimberton Road in West Vincent Township in the village of Chester Springs. The work will require bypass pumping of the stream in order to install a new concrete curb at the base of the arch with dowels into solid rock. The walls are to be removed, a new concrete grade beam constructed and the walls rebuilt using the existing stone. A new bluestone cap shall be installed and grouted. The bluestone cap selected must be acceptable to the Township. The face of the existing arch barrel shall be repointed. The existing roadway is to be widened to the new curb, receive a scratch coating as needed and an 1 1/2 " overlay. R6 Rip Rap is to be installed in the existing scour hole. The successful bidder will be required to pay the PennBid Program a fee of 1/3 % of the contract value award.There is a minimum award fee of $100.00 and a maximum of $5,000.00. roposals shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the proposal. Proposals shall be effective for 90 days from the date of opening. The successful low bidder will be required to provide a 100% performance bond or certified check, a 100% payment bond or certified check, a worker compensation affidavit, and a certificate of insurance naming West Vincent Township and LTL Consultants as additional insureds, all within 20 days after the contract is awarded. West Vincent Township reserves the right to waive any non-material defects or irregularities in the bid, and to reject any or all bids or portions thereof.
