Demolition, site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Birmingham, Alabama. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The general scope of the work includes but is not limited to: Renovation of an existing 6-story warehouse building in downtown Birmingham to become offices, meeting spaces and classrooms for the College of Architecture, Design & Construction's Urban Studio and the Harbert College of Business's outreach and training components. Work involves restoration of exterior facades (terra cotta and brick masonry); installation of new envelope components (roof, windows, lobby storefront, etc); Full MEP re-work, and Tenant fit-out of 6 floors, totaling ~41,000 GSF. In accordance with Code of Alabama, 39-2-2(a), prequalification is required for this project.
