As of July 20, 2023, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to June 2024. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Jefferson County Parks Department is in need of design and engineering services for a multimodal trail that will include approximately 2.8 miles of off road, 10 wide paved trail within a WE Energies transmission line corridor on a former rail line in the Town of Ixonia. The project will begin at Hwy F South of Ixonia and head east to the County Line. The project will also include design and engineering on a two span recreation bridge that will be placed on existing abutments and pilings that remain from the original rail line. All design and engineering will need to meet the requirements of WisDOT NonTraditional Project Standards to meet potential future grant requirements.
