Coal Kiln and Forslund Roads Pavement Improvement Project, MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Pavement Surfacing for the project with an estimated value of $929,348 will be required. The work includes reclaiming the existing road pavement and base, regrading and shaping the reclaimed base, and paving. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a certified, treasurer's check, bid bond or cash in the amount of 5 percent of the value of the bid. All bidders must be MassDOT Prequalified for Highway Construction in Massachusetts. Drawings and other Contract Documents may be examined at the following: Town of Princeton, Town Hall, Selectmen's Office, 6 Town Hall Drive, Princeton, Contract Documents and plans will be mailed to prospective bidders upon request and receipt of prepayment of associated mailing costs. This amount is not refundable. Both checks shall be made payable to Town of Princeton. he successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in an amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00700. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or reject any or all bids. A bid which includes, for any item, a unit cost that is abnormally low or high may be rejected as unbalanced. The right is also reserved to accept any bid deemed to be best for the interest of the Town of Charlton. The contract completion time for the project shall be 180 days commencing forty-five (45) days following effective date of notice to proceed. No bidder may withdraw his/her Bid for a period of thirty days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays following effective date of Notice to Proceed.
