SJE is developing the power grid of the future for uptown Saint John. We are seeking expressions of interest for engineering services to perform the following: A condition assessment of SJE s overall electrical and civil infrastructure in the uptown area including primary/secondary cable, gas switches, submersible transformers, vaults manholes, duct banks, etc. Recommend a planned course of action both short and long term that address any weaknesses found Design of a new substation which will consolidate two (2) of SJE s existing uptown substations, Crown St and Union St. The new substation will be able to handle future load growth and renewable generation projects such as tidal, wind, solar etc. The new substation will be a digital solution incorporating new monitoring equipment and technologies Load flow studies that will seek to optimize feeder configuration and load allocation between the new substation and its neighbouring substations Bayside, Somerset and Westmorland Protection and coordination studies Designing a high-speed communication network to our substations Modernizing existing specifications of power transformers, switchgears, HV breakers etc. Question Deadline: Fri Mar 11, 2022 3:00 PM (AST)
