The Colorado Community College System recently retained Terracon to conduct an Environmental Site Assessment of the Lowry Campus located at 9101 E. Lowry. The Lowry Campus is comprised of approximately 150 acres and was part of the Lowry U.S. Air Force Base that was decommissioned in 1994. The Terracon Limited ESA Phase II report found small particles of non-friable Asbestos Containing Material on the surface of one test area shown as Test Area 2 on the attached Attachment C Site Map. The Test Area 2 is approximately 245 feet by 210 feet. Due to the public nature of the Lowry Campus, Terracon recommended Test Area 2 be covered with one foot of soil over a filter fabric. The Scope of Work for this Project is to cover Test Area 2 with a filter fabric and one foot of soil. An optional service is to seed the Test Area 2 with grass seed. Project Requirements: 1. Contractor will: a. Remediate the Area marked as #2 and outlined with blue rectangle near the CCA Gym on the Attachment C Site Map. Area is approximately 245 ft x 210 ft. b. Area will be uniformly graded to drain with a minimum of one foot of soil placed over filter fabric. c. A Compactive effort will be made during placement to bring soil density to that of the underlying area. d. A SWPPP Plan will be required and must be included in the proposal. e. Uninterrupted access to work area, one mobilization. f. Working days/hours are Monday thru Friday, 7:00am 5:30 pm. 2. An optional service to be separately priced: a. Reseed the area with comparable grass seed.
