The Pennsylvania Game Commission requires the services of an Operator to cut all sweet birch 5-foot-tall and larger as described below on 53 acres on SGL 086 in Deerfield Township, Warren County. Most of the stems are 2 - 4 DBH. Services shall include, but are not limited to, the furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment, tools, superintendence, miscellaneous items, and performing all work necessary to complete the project to the satisfaction of and subject to the approval of the Commission. Questions specific to the bidding process should be directed to the PGC Purchasing and Procurement Division at telephone no. 717-787-6594. This bid should include the unit price per acre. The bid will be awarded on a lump sum total of the entire project. The work may begin on or after the effective date of the purchase order and the work must be completed by June 15, 2022. No extension of time will be awarded. An optional site inspection tour of the project site is scheduled. The meeting location is the Game Lands Parking Area on Davey Hill Road at N 41.74068 W -79.34516. The site inspection will provide prospective bidders the opportunity to view the site and evaluate conditions specific to the project, including vegetation for control, topography, site challenges (rock, downed logs, deer fence, density of reserved trees, etc.) This project is to be completed by hand felling/cutting only. Acceptable equipment includes chainsaws and brush saws on weed whacker platforms. The Commission reserves the right to reject any piece of equipment that in its opinion will not safely and adequately complete the job. As further guarantee of faithful performance of the conditions set forth in this contract, the Contractor hereby agrees to furnish the Commission with Certified Check, Savings Account, Irrevocable Letter of Credit, or other security acceptable to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, as bond in the amount of 10% of the awarded bid price. Bond must be paid to the Commission before commencement of work. ANY SECURITY POSTED MUST HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR BEYOND THE EXPIRATION DATE OF THE CONTRACT.
