Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Standish, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

Outline of Work: The project consists of the removal of the existing 48" and 30" corrugated metal circular culverts at Blake Road and replacing them with an open bottom aluminum box structure approximately 11'-11" wide x 3'-7" high x 45' long. The Shaws Mill Road Culvert Replacement project consists of the removal of the existing 8.5'x 9' corrugated metal elliptical culvert and replacement with an open bottom aluminum arch structure approximately 18'-7" wide, x 5'-4"' high x 51' long. Each of the proposed culvert will be constructed to accommodate 1.2 bank full width design parameters. The stream bottoms will be re-established with native materials or imported materials that meet the consistency of native materials, as required. All slopes greater than 2:1 will receive rip-rap. Erosion and sediment control to be in accordance with the State of Maine DEP BMPs. Dewatering of brook flow by pumping will discharge back to the stream through a sediment bag or rip-rap plunge pool. Reconstruction of roadways shall be in conformance with Contract Documents and Maine DOT standard specifications. The basis of award will be the lowest base bid by qualified bidder. Attendance at this meeting shall follow COVID-19 safety protocols and will not be mandatory.
