Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a mixed-use development in Schenectady, New York. Completed plans call for asbestos abatement for a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The purpose ofthis project was to conduct a pre-renovation hazardous materials survey for asbestos, at Schenectady High School, Washington Irving Educational Center, Fulton Elementary and Paige Elementary School at 1445 The Plaza, 422 Mumford Street, 408 Eleanor Street, and 104 Elliott Avenue respectively, in Schenectady, NY (The Site). The areas inspected were limited to spaces where chilled water or steam control valves are being replaced. At the High School these locationswere the Mechanical Mezzanine above the Chiller Room, the Auditorium Mechanical Room and the Library Mechanical Room. At Fulton Elementaty these locations were above various classroom ceilings. At Washington Irving these locations were the Tech Room and Gymnasium. At Paige Elementary these locations were in the crawlspace. However, due to potential contamination in the crawlspace, Paige Elementary will be completed at a later date and this report will be revised to reflect the findings. Ambient Environmental, Inc. (Ambient) provided the following sendees for Schenectady City School District (Client) in accordance with Ambient proposal number 2021-10- 0534.
