Procedures and experiments using swine are anticipated to increase significantly upon the creation of the UW Swine Center, continued popularity of the Cardiovascular Core and overall higher demand from swine users all across campus. Increased housing flexibility is very important for biosecurity of the animals, quarantine of animals from outside vendors and isolation for animals used on radioactive studies.
