Crosby Boiler Demolition and Removal. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The City ofPittsfield is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to demolish , remove and properly dispose of a 1962 Titusville Boiler at Crosby Elementary School, located at 517 West Street in Pittsfield. Work under this contract shall include, but not be limited to the following: All labor and materials required to cut, and make safe, steam, gas and water piping for existing boiler #2. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to insure that there are no leaks from existing piping, whether it's gas, steam or water. o The Contractor shall take care in performing his/her work so as not to damage any existing structure during demolition or removal. Should damage to the building occur, it shall be the responsibility ofthe Contractor to make repairs to the satisfaction ofthe Building Maintenance Director. o All labor and materials to cut up and dismantle boiler #2, inclusive ofboiler sections, pedestal, controls, and boilerjacket. o Careful removal, set aside and protection of the burner of boiler #2 for City of Pittsfield use. Burner shall NOT be damaged or disposed of. o Remove and dispose of all materials, parts and miscellaneous demolition debris, following all regulatory requirements for disposal. Contractor shall be responsible for leaving the work area broom swept at the end of each day. o Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits for the project, including, but not limited to, a Selective Demolition Permit from the Building Inspection Department. There shall be no fee for said permit(s), but the Contractor shall be responsible for submitting all permit applications.
