PURPOSE: The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide grounds keeping services on a scheduled basis from April to November for the roundabout at the intersection of Route 24 and Route 646 in accordance with the specifications contained herein. This contract should be bid based on the minimum requirements specified below. Additional landscaping work shall be charged at an hourly rate. Materials will be charged at cost. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: From date of award through one year. II. QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS INVITATION FOR BID: Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Robert Dowdle at Robert.Dowdle@VDOT.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. SCOPE OF WORK: 1. EXPECTATIONS: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, supplies, fuel, materials, tools, equipment and incidentals necessary to satisfactorily mow grass, edge, weed, pick up litter, sweep up and remove leaves and debris, trim around (sidewalks/ trees/curbing), and prune trees and shrubbery at the Route 24/646 Roundabout in Concord, VA as defined in this bid. For the purpose of this bid the Contractor can anticipate eight mowings and weedings. Additional mowing and weeding may be ordered during the contract period as determined by the Contract Administrator on an as needed basis. 2. VDOT reserves the right to perform any line item service with their forces. 3. Pricing Line item 1 is a fixed unit price for mowing, litter removal, cleaning, 3/8 gutter & island cleaning, hand mowing & trimming, 1/8 edging, tree & shrub pruning, weeding, 2/8 mulching, 1/8 fertilizing and seeding, and refuse disposal
