The Water and Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement Project generally includes the construction of water and sanitary sewer lines within the City s service area. The project includes the installation of pipe, valves, fire hydrants, pipe fittings, manholes, and trench and street repairs in accordance with the specifications and details set forth in these bid documents. Construction of these items shall include labor, material, traffic control (if necessary), equipment and any other necessary incidentals needed to complete the construction. The project will be awarded based on a unit price bid for the different types of infrastructure details. The unit prices willb determine the quantity of water and sanitary sewer to be constructed for the fiscal year. After awarding the contract, work orders will be issued to the contractor to construct/replace segments of water and/or sanitary sewer mains, per the details in the bid documents. The contract award allows for contract extension on a yearly basis with approval from both parties, for up to five years. The City of Fredericksburg reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the prices in any BID, the OWNER reserves the right to determine which BIDS are the lowest and/or best, and to award the contract on this basis. City Council has alocated $300,000 for water improvement and $300,000 for sewer improvements as part of the City's fiscal year 2022 budget.
