A. General: Project name is KERR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HVAC SYSTEM REPLACEMENT, BPSB PROJECT NO. 23-43 as shown on Contract Documents prepared by John J. Guth Associates, Inc. Drawings and Specifications are dated September 27, 2022. B. Summary by References: Work of the contract can be summarized by references to the Contract, General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, Specification Sections, Drawings, addenda and modifications to the contract documents issued as part of addenda subsequent to the initial printing of this project manual and including, but not necessarily limited to, printed material referenced by any of these. It is recognized that work of the Contract is also unavoidably affected or influenced by governing regulations, natural phenomenon, including weather conditions, and other forces outside the contract documents. C. Abbreviated Written Summary: Briefly and without force and effect upon the contract documents, the work of the Contract can be summarized as follows: 1. The work includes removal of, packaged rooftop units, duct work and electrical. The project includes installation of new rooftop units, duct work, fuel gas piping, and all associated architectural, electrical and structural work. The Contractor awarded the Contract shall furnish a Maintenance Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana. The Bond shall be for a period of two years from the date of the substantial completion of the Project with the obligation limited to ten percent (10%) of the Contract Sum which is the Penal Sum All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates and must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond written in conformance with state law. Written evidence of the authority of the person signing the bid form should be included with the bid form. See La. R.S. 38:2212 B. (2) and (5). The successful bidder shall be required to furnish Performance, Maintenance and Payment Bonds on the forms provided by the School Board and written in accordance with state law.
