Only firms certified as a Small Business, Micro Business, or Small Business for the purpose of Public Works (SB-PW) with the Department of General Services (DGS), Office of Small Business and DVBE Service (OSDS), or contractors who commit to subcontracting a minimum of 25 percent (25%) of their net bid price to SB, MB, or SB-PW, in the categories most appropriate to accomplish the prescribed services will be granted this preference. As required by Executive Order S-02-06, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is committed to meeting the States 25 percent (25%) Small Business (SB) participation goal. Certified SBs, Micro Businesses (MB), SBs for the purpose of Public Works (SB-PW), and contractors willing to commit to subcontracting a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) of their net bid price to certified SBs, MBs (if applicable), or SB-PWs, are encouraged to submit bids.
