The sole points of contact for purposes of this IFB are the Procurement Officer Mr. Asbury Jones or designee Rodney Hubble. They may be contacted at telephone number 410 228-4977 between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. or by FAX 410 543-6598. NOTE: The vendor is solely responsible for ensuring any information sent to the Procurement Officer's Designee by FAX has been received. Bids are not to be faxed. This Contract consists of supplying labor, tools, service and expertise necessary to monitor and inspect the Alarm System at the Cambridge Maintenance Shop in Dorchester county. The main goal of this contract is to monitor the alarm and provide required inspections per State Regulation. The award in this procurement will be made for a 60-month contract with the successful bidder submitting a bid under $50,000. The MDOT SHA Cambridge Office is accepting bids for the monthly monitoring and annual inspection of its Simplex fire alarm system and the elevator emergency phone monitoring system at the Cambridge Maintenance Shop. This opportunity is only for the monitoring and annual inspection of the existing systems. The building is located at 2954 Old Rt. 50, Cambridge MD 21613. Service is estimated to start approximately April 1, 2022, for both systems. Vendor shall contact Rodney Hubble at 410-228-4977 for requests to visit the complex. Vendor should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in providing security monitoring and Inspection of Simplex brand systems. Quarterly monitoring prices shall include the cost of all regular state fire marshal required system inspections and testing of the system. Quarterly prices for the elevator emergency monitoring will include all costs associated with the 24-hour 7 day a week service as well. Any needed repairs discovered will be made by others, at the discretion of SHA. Vendor's service shall be a UL listed monitoring service for fire monitoring and reporting. Vendor should be experienced with Simplex systems and compatible devices. All aspects of the elevator emergency phone line monitoring such as 24 hour a day, 7 days a week requirement must comply with ASME/ANSI A17.1. The contract written with the successful bidder will be written as a 5-year contract, not to exceed the successful bid amount (whichever is achieved first). If at any point during the contract duration any new system is installed, SHA has the right to terminate for convenience this contract in full. Fire Alarm System Inspection, Testing and Maintenance - Scope Fire alarm systems and their components shall be monitored, inspected, and tested in accordance with NFPA 72 as adopted and or modified by the Maryland State Fire Prevention Code and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. This may involve monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual testing depending upon the type of system installed. The contractor is responsible for inspection and testing of the system. Service personnel shall be qualified and experienced in testing, inspection and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Records shall be maintained until the next test and for one year thereafter. The successful bidder shall be fully eligible and licensed to perform this type of work in the State of Maryland and have all applicable State Fire Marshal endorsements.
