A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The Facilities Management Department is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to provide a full roof design and install the roofing system at the Discovery Depot Day Care. Questions Due Date: Mar 17th 2022, 4:30 PM EDT The selected contractor shall be responsible for providing the Town with a full roof design and installing the roofing system. The selected contractor assumes full responsibility for delivery, warranty, and maintenance of all materials, hardware, and support services. The selected contractor shall be responsible for coordinating work with all subcontractors and with the Town. The scope of work shall include but are not limited to the following items: Provide roof design drawings for a new EPDM flat roof installation and shingled areas, to include detailed specifications (shop drawings required). Scuppers are to be utilized and incorporated into the design. The design shall include new flashing around entire roof. Data calculations to ensure proper and adequate run-off are required. The design shall also include how the water will be handled/placed and properly discharges at ground level. There shall be at least a 20 year warranty or greater on the roof. If there is no extra cost, a 30 year warranty is desired. Insulation shall be installed on the flat roof areas and tapered for proper drainage. The thickness of the insulation on the flat roof area shall meet new codes or better. Areas that are currently shingled shall be replaced with a 50 year shingle. Metal roofing shall be submitted as an alternate. Roof design and installation shall include ridge venting, drip edging, flashing, guttering system, downspouts, splash blocks, and gutter guards. The design and installation shall also include a new skylight. Submit the roof plans to the Building Department for approval and permits. Fees for permits to be incurred by the selected contractor. Selected contractor shall carry any associated costs for the removal of current materials that may contain asbestos. Areas inside the day care shall be protected from debris when roofing operations are being completed and all areas shall be cleaned nightly. Any internal damage shall be repaired by the selected contractor. In order to discover and resolve any problems, conflicts, or lack of definition which might create problems with respect to performance of the work, the selected contractor at its own expense and prior to submitting a bid proposal, must familiarize itself with all applicable expense, laws, codes, statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, and orders of all authorities having jurisdiction over the project.
