Bids will be received for furnishing labor, materials, and equipment necessary for preforming the following: o Excavation for the purpose of installation of approximately 130' linear feet of 24" HDPE dual wall pipe complete and in place. o Install End Section. o Remove 130 Linear Feet of existing pipe. o Ditching of 50 Linear Feet. o Backfill, compact and re-grade yard as specified. o Install and maintain temporary erosion and sediment control measures for inlet protection and site stabilization. o Finish grade, reseed, and install matting or straw in all disturbed areas. Bids must be sealed within an envelope addressed to the Water Resources Department, City of Burlington, North Carolina, and the envelope must be marked "PROPOSAL FOR STORMWATER DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS - 2211 Lacy Street". Bids shall be marked with the name, license number, and address of the Bidder. If the Bid is sent through the mail or other delivery system, the sealed envelope shall be enclosed with the notation "BID ENCLOSED" on the face of it. Bidders shall assume full responsibility for timely delivery at the location designated for receipt of Bids. Bids received after the time and date for receipt of Bids will be returned unopened. Oral, telephone, facsimile, or telegraph Bids are invalid and will not receive consideration. No Bidder may submit more than one Bid. Multiple Bids under different names will not be accepted from one firm or association. The City of Burlington reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and to award a contract or contracts which in the opinion of the City of Burlington appear to be in its best interest. The right is reserved to hold any or all proposals for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening thereof. This project is proposed to include property owner cost-sharing, but payment for the work will be made by the City to the Contractor. The project will only proceed after the City and the property owner both agree that the price received via this invitation to bid process or subsequent negotiation is acceptable, and the property owner and the City have reached agreement on the property owner's reimbursement to the City for his/her share of the work.
