The New York State Thruway Authority is seeking to retain a qualified firm to provide term services for testing and inspection of structural steel for projects located on the Thruway on an as-needed basis. Assignments will include, but not be limited to, field and shop inspection of structural steel and other metal construction items and ultrasonic testing of structural steel. Interested firms must be able to perform shop inspections regionally and nationally, as well as within New York State. Please note the following must be addressed in the letter of interest: The selected firm must provide AWS Certified Welding Inspectors certified in accordance with the provisions of AWS QC1, Standard for Qualification and Certification of Welding Inspectors. Personnel performing radiography, magnetic particle and dye-penetrant testing shall be qualified in accordance with the current edition of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, recommended practices number SNT-TC-1A. Personnel performing ultrasonic testing shall be qualified by a written examination and performance testing administered by the New York State Department of Transportation, and hold a current NYSDOT certified ultrasonic testing technician card, as required for the steel or metals testing or inspection. The estimated value of this agreement is $ 1,500,000. Assignments are expected to begin in the fall of 2022. The duration of this agreement is thirty-six months and the Authority shall have the option, in its sole discretion, to extend this agreement for one (1) additional one (1) year term. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Total MWBE Participation Goals: 30% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6% Contract term: Three years, with an option for the Authority to extend for one (1) additional one (1) year term.
