The City is seeking qualified companies to perform mowing, edging, weed abatement & management, trash and debris removal, shrub, vine and groundcover maintenance, playground, picnic area and exercise equipment maintenance, minor tree trimming and basic citrus tree maintenance, etc., for 13 CFD areas throughout the City of Redlands, in a manner consistent with the City's expectations. As required by Civil Code section 9550, bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or a certified check or Bidder's admitted corporate surety bond, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the City of Redlands. Said check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract if awarded the work. In the case of refusal or failure to enter into said Contract, within fourteen (14) days after Notice of Award by the City in writing, the security shall be applied by the City to the difference between such bid and the next lowest acceptable bid and surplus, if any, shall be returned to Bidder if cash or check is used, or to Surety if bid bond is used. The Bidder to whom award is made will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond in an amount of 100% of the Bid amount, from a Surety Company satisfactory to the City of Redlands along with the execution of the agreement. Pursuant to provisions of Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code, the Contractor may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the City to ensure performance of the work. In addition, a valid QAL is required by all Bidders. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any products be considered for approval prior to award of the Contract. Changes, if any, will be made by addendum prior to opening of Bids. Written responses will be prepared and distributed to all bidders represented at the Bidders Conference.
