Contractor is required to furnish and place approx. 1,888 Tons of 2A Aggregate, perform approx. 12,244 SY of FDR-Mechanical Stabilization, approx. 13,774 SY of E-1 Prime w/ blotter, and approx. 24,612 SY of a double application of Asphalt Seal Coat with CRS-2PM. Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the contract is required of all bidders. Performance bond and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract, as well as proof of worker's compensation insurance will be required within 20 days of receiving notice of being awarded the bid. All work and material must meet current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Specifications Pub 408 and its Supplements. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Municipality. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wages are applicable to this project. FULL DEPTH RECLAMATION (FDR) MECHANICAL STABILIZATION
This work consists of the incorporation of imported granular materials during the pulverization or mixing pass of a FDR
project. Refer to Pub 447 section MS- 0370-0020 for complete specifications.
2A AGGREGATE
This work is the blending of 2A material at 3" depth with existing roadway material in the reclamation process to stabilize
road base. Material is to be placed across entire cross section of roadway at 3" depth prior to the reclamation process.
Location parameters of 2A aggregate to be verified by Cleveland Township prior to placement and blending.
NOTE: Contractor is required to use state certified limestone aggregate.
ASPHALT PRIME COAT (E-1 PRIME) W/ BLOTTER
This work is the conditioning and treating of an absorbent non-asphalt base course or an absorbent existing surface with
an application of emulsified asphalt Prime Coat E-1 Prime, immediately followed by an application of Type A, No. 8
course aggregate. All work to be in accordance with the Publication 408 Section 461, to be rolled according to section
470.3c. Supply and placement of the course aggregate is incidental to the Asphalt Prime Coat. ASPHALT SEAL COAT (DOUBLE APPLICATION) w/CRS-2PM
This work is two applications of emulsified asphalt, each application of emulsified asphalt immediately followed by an
application of course aggregate. Furnish and place two applications of emulsified asphalt material, CRS-2PM PolymerModified Cationic Emulsified Asphalt, immediately followed by an application of Type A, No. 8 coarse aggregate SRL-L
for each lift. All work and material in accordance with the current Publication 408 Section 470.
NOTE: Contractor is required to use state certified limestone aggregate.
Incidental to the above items: Provide verifiable test results that show aggregate is clean, material finer than the 200 sieve
does not exceed 1.0 percent; clean roadway prior to placement; driveway tie-ins with the appropriate material to match
driveway, provide affidavit showing aggregate and oil compatibility and provide Traffic Control according publication
212, 213 and the MUTCD. All work must be completed in accordance with the current PADOT Pub. 408 Specifications
and its supplement.
