The Elk Grove Village Public Library Board reserves the right to reject any bid, or portion thereof, or to waive minor deviations from the bid documents, if it deems it is in the public interest to do so. The Elk Grove Village Public Library is accepting bids for a Skylight Rehabilitation Program at the Elk Grove Village Public Library located at 1001 Wellington Avenue, in Elk Grove Village, IL. 60007 The building contains two existing octagonal pyramid skylights approximately 18'-8" each (as measured on the flats), 20'-0"+/- overall. Both existing skylights are aluminum metal framed with double pane insulated tinted glazed units. Horizontal glazing mullions are butt jointed. The skylight frames are set on 1'-6"+/- raised curbs. The first skylight is located on the Upper Main Roof level over the interior library area conditioned space. The glazing units are tinted with an applied tinted film on the interior. This skylight will be removed and replaced in its entirety. The second skylight is located on the Canopy Roof over the main library entrance and is over unconditioned space. This skylight to remain and general rehabilitation related to inspection, assessment, and new sealant joint application. Alternates for complete replacement of this skylight is being accepted at this time. The roofs of the library was roofed approximately 6 years ago. The library will be fully open and occupied during the Skylight rehabilitation program. All work and scheduling to be coordinated with library personnel and roof installer. Relocation of books, shelves, and electronic readers shall be the responsibility of the library personnel. Skylight contractor shall properly install protection over roof systems at assembly and installation locations at both skylights. Any damage to roof systems caused by the skylight contractor during the skylight rehabilitation program shall be repaired as part of the contract. Alternate bids are also being requested as described below in the Project Manual sections.
