Phase 1: Renovation of Auditorium and AHU, Chiller for Second and Third Floor. Saint Paul University (SPU) is seeking proposals for a new Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Supression fit-up for the Auditorium. Located in the heart of the nation's capital, Saint Paul University (est. 1848) is the founding college of the University of Ottawa, with which it has been federated since 1965. Besides its academic programs, SPU offers several complementary services, including support and guidance to help students succeed academically and personally; access to symposiums, conferences, and workshops with distinguished specialists in the areas of issues facing today's society; a student residence; and a library with an outstanding collection of documents and books on a range of specialized subjects. Known for its small class sizes, personalized service, bilingual environment, humanities programs and Catholic intellectual tradition, this human scale institution is entering into a major phase of modernization with its newly renovated Student Life Centre, newly renovated Library main area, the creation of the Indigenous Learners Centre (ILC) and most recently the modernization of the Auditurium. The auditorium space is centrally located within Guigues Hall at 223 Main Street in the City of Ottawa, which was constructed in the 1950s. It is understood that the modifications being performed are restricted to the second floor of the building and are to accommodate the architectural and mechanical fit-up of the auditorium area.
