The project consists of replacing existing stormwater drainage from the Cochecho River outfall to the Portland Avenue retaining wall. In 2020, there was a collapse and failure of the 60-inch storm drainage pipe under private marina property. The pipe has temporarily been repaired; however, the segment of pipe remains in poor condition. There is an urgency to replace the pipe to properly handle the large stormwater flows generated from the 270-acre watershed area consisting of neighborhoods bounded on the east by Broadway and to the west by Central Avenue, extending all the way up to Garrison Hill. Eversource will be conducting a soil remediation project on the site of the private marina northwest of Cochecho Street and will be excavating in close proximity to the existing stone box culvert. There is a benefit to collaborating with the proposed Eversource work to replace the box culvert. As of December 13, 2023, this project is included in the City of Dover's FY 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is allotted for FY 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
