The successful Bidder shall provide all goods, services, labor, bonds, and insurance necessary to meet or exceed the requirements and specifications in accordance with the Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications (Project Manual). The Department of General Services (DGS) will be serving as the agency responsible for overseeing the project. The project consists of the demolition and renovation of the PSC's commercial kitchen in a phased sequence that consist of the multi-purpose/dining room space, and the dishwashing, storage, and office areas. The renovation includes the installation of new and reused food service appliances and equipment, including a new walk-in refrigerator and freezer units. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems will also be renovated. Bidders shall submit any questions regarding sites, scope of work, Contract requirements in writing to darryl.jackson@alexandriava.gov. Cut-off for questions shall be March 27, 2023 at 4:00 PM ET. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check or a certified check of the bidder payable to the City or by a certified copy of the bid bond from a surety company acceptable to the City and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia, properly executed in favor of the City for not less than five (5) percent of the amount representing the bid or sum total noted in Section B. The successful bidder shall be required to deliver to the City a performance bond and a payment bond, properly executed by a surety company acceptable to the City and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the respective Contract amount.
