The project consists of the removal of trees from four distinct areas on the property totaling 62,190 SF. Tree tops/branches may be mulched/chipped to remain on site and tree trunks shall be stacked on 430 S. Freeman Street (across street from project site) per Contract provisions. All bidders must examine the Documents, read the Specifications, and visit the site of this project to fully investigate the extent and quality of the work required. The contract shall be awarded or rejected on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the regular meeting of Borough Council commencing at 7:00 p.m. All work must be completed by April 29, 2022 or liquidated damages will apply. A certified check or bank draft, payable to Robesonia Borough or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with the bid. In addition, the following documents must be included with the bid package: anti-collusion affidavit. A performance bond or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract price shall be furnished by the successful bidder within 10 days after contract is awarded. In addition, the following documents must be submitted within twenty (10) days of award: workman's compensation affidavit, insurance certificate. Attention is called to the fact that prevailing wages apply to this project if the bid is over $25,000 and that employees and applicants for employment shall not be discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. The Contract is subject to the requirements for affirmative action to ensure equal employment opportunity (Executive Order 11246). No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the written consent of the Owner. Robesonia Borough reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to reject any part of any bid, and to waive any bid informalities.
